Triumph Volleyball Academy is the site of the AVP America Central Valley Series and is hosted by Elite Beach Volleyball Club in Madera, Ca.

The age requirements are as follows:
18-and-Under Division: Players who were born on or after September 1, 2000
16-and-Under Division: Players who were born on or after September 1, 2002

For 18U Division: Seniors in high school born before September 1, 2000 and freshman in college born on or after September 1, 2000 are eligible to compete in AVPFirst events during this qualification period.

DEADLINE TO ENTRY: Deadline is 5:00 pm the day before a tournament. 

ON THE DAY OF THE TOURNAMENT: Check in is at 8:15 am. At 8:45 we will review tournament rules and demonstrate some of the rules if necessary. Competition begins at 9:00. Playoffs normally start at 1:00 and the tournament ends around 4:00. 

WHAT TO BRING TO THE TOURNAMENT: Plenty of water, sun protection and lunch. A beach towel, chair and umbrella is a good idea. There are shaded areas for spectators and a small area for pop up tents, but that space is given on a first come first serve basis. Some type of Sand Sock is helpful as the sand is hot during the summer. Sand Socks may be available for sale at the tournament. Local eateries are about a 10 minute drive from the courts so make sure to bring snacks and/or lunch. There will be a 30 minutes lunch break from 12:30 pm - 1:00 pm.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT: Format will be pool play followed by single elimination playoffs. Teams are expected to warm up prior to their games. On court warm ups will only be 2 minutes - NO EXCEPTIONS Teams warming up longer than 3 minutes may result in the limiting of teams advancing to the playoff round. All teams are expected to referee throughout the tournament. Six 5 team pools will play one game to 28 points with no cap. All teams will advance to playoffs and play one game to 21 points no cap win by two points. 

AWARDS: 1st - 3rd place medals will be awarded. Additional merchandise MAY BE AWARDED.

AVP POINTS & NATIONAL BIDS: This event is an East Coast Championship Qualifier. Bid earning is as follows:

Bids will be awarded based on the following criteria: 
  • 5+ teams in each division- 1st & 2nd place earns bids
  • 9+ teams in each division- 1st, 2nd, 3rd(2) OR 4th place place teams earn bids
  • 17+ teams in each division- 1st, 2nd, 3rd (2) & 5th (4) place teams earn bids

Players will earn points and a select number of AVP point leaders in the Nor Cal Zone in each age division will earn bids. AVP America events will also help seeding for the West Coast Championship.These events earn AVP points for seeding purposes and for Zonal Qualification into the AVPFirst National Championships. Above all else, these events are designed for the participant to have fun!


COACHES, PARENTS AND FANS: Everyone is encourage to cheer their teams throughout the tournament. However, coaching is NOT ALLOWED during a game. Coaching or any contact with the player is only allowed before and after the game, and during the team's one minute time out. (only one time out per team). Any violation of this rule may result in a lost of serve and one point deduction. Any coach or parent are found arguing calls, or questioning the referee may result in a forfeiture of the game. DON'T BE THE COACH OR PARENT WHO CAUSED YOUR PLAYER TO FORFEIT THEIR GAME. If a coach or parent has a problem with a player or referee, please contact the tournament director directly. POOR SPORTSMANSHIP WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.
